Joe and Danny Working on Radar
Woodbine Harbour to Rossport. I am trying to write a positive blog but I am sick of the cold and rain. High south west winds. Rough seas until we got behind Minnie and Harry Islands. Ella sick for the first time this trip. We tied up to the old dock. We will be in Rossport until we get the radar fixed. Danny headed for Duluth to pick up parts and bring Ella home. We went to my parents for dinner and did some laundry. We have had many visitors on the boat. On Thursday Joe and Danny install the new radar on the boat. Had a very frustrating day as things did not go as expected. After a full day of trouble shooting they got the radar working. Now Danny is wondering why it is working. Later in the evening Brenda and Gino Pradal, Todd and Viv Sicliano with Justin and friends from Duluth MN. Cindy and Rob and John and Eva Jones arrive and stay at the Government Dock as they are heading to the Slate Islands with us.

Owl Island to Woodbine Harbour. Socked in by fog in the morning and the temperature outside was 8 C. Rain squalls on and off all day. Danny fished for one hour and caught 2 fish within 1/4 mile from the boat. Too cold to enjoy fishing. John and Carol were heading for Nipigon because they were calling for a north west wind so we headed for Woodbine Harbour. Anchored and seen 4 kayakers having fun in the rain and cold.

Otter Cove to Owl Island. Ella seen her first baby moose, swimming with mom in the water. There was a thunder storm in the area. Tied up against John and Carol Zechner's boat. We usually like to stay at CPR slip but were unable to this time as the owner was there for a fishing weekend with 9 guys. Danny helped John layout and place foundation for his new camp. The day was very hot and Ella and I walked across the island. I know she is a city girl as she does like spider webs or any bugs. We had a marshmallow roast in the evening.

Our Dinner
We headed for Otter Cove today. Fog in the morning but the sun came out around 9.30 a.m. Anchored at the mouth of creek. Temperature in the afternoon was about 26 C. Beautiful day and evening. Saw 2 moose swim in the channel. Visited with the Mikanen's from McKay Island. Fished for a couple of hours and caught 4 red fins and 2lake trout. Kept one for dinner.

Ella Colouring
We travelled to Loon Harbour. Warm and sunny most of the day. Ran into some heavy fog at 10 mile lighthouse. Radar decided to take a break and quit transmitting. Danny worked on it for about three hours with no success. Evening was very cold with heavy dense fog. Took the dingy fishing but it was too cold. Ella kept herself busy with her colouring and crafts.

Finally got the boat in the water today. Beautiful sunny day. Summer has arrived.
The boat stayed at the Yacht Club overnight. Danny has been busy this spring putting in a oil burning heating system and his brother Joe helped him paint the bottom.
