We are Going to the Erie Canal
Catskill, New York to Waterford, New York - It rained most of the night, overcast most of the day. It was a long trip today as were against the current. Lots to see today as we passed the capital city of New York, Albany, it has a busy port even though it is not on the ocean. We went through our first lock of the season, and now we are out of the salt water and into fresh water and no more tides. We tied up to the town floating docks, they offer free tie ups with electricity, water and Wi-Fi. We made a decision today not to go into Lake Champlain due to high water, flooding and lots of floating debris and part of the canal system through Quebec is closed, we will be taking the Erie Canal instead.
