Smith Falls to Colonel By Island on Big Rideau Lake - Hot and sunny today. We returned the rental car in the morning and needed a pump out. The Smith Falls one was not working so we all headed to the marina in Rideau Ferry. Checked out a few anchorages but decided to stay at Colonel By Island. This island was once a private island with apparently a colourful past with the likes of Al Capone staying here. It is now the property of Parks Canada and is in a state of disrepair. We took the dinghy around the island, seen lots of turtles sunning themselves. The kids fished and were in and out of the water.
