Anchored Ships Waiting to Get into Port
Ship Unloading Fuel
Tug Pushing Ship Into Place
US Coast Guard Ship Checking Us Out
Freeport, Bahamas to Fort Pierce, Florida - A beautiful day, 10 knot east winds pushing us across. We left at 6.30 a.m. for the 150 mile crossing. Freeport is a busy port with container ships and fuel tankers coming and going. In international waters we were hailed by the American Coast Guard to answer some questions. Boat name, hailing port, where are you going, will you be checking into American customs. They did not board us but came up close to verify name of boat and where it was from. When we arrived in Fort Pierce we phoned customs and were given a clearance number and told to report within 24 hours. We had a great crossing.
