St. Marys, Georgia to Cumberland Island, Georgia - Sunny, hot and windy today. Cumberland Island is a National Park, but before it was a national park it was home to the Carnegie's. We anchored at Sea Camp Beach and went ashore to check things out. We walked over to Dungenesss which, which was their home. The story goes that the caretaker reported some deer poachers on the island and within a couple of days the place was burned. There was no proof of this and no one was charged. We seen many wild horses which are the descendants of the horses they used for their polo matches. We also seen many armadillos and wild turkeys and even one small snake. We walked over to the Sea Camp Beach which is on the Atlantic side. Lots of people enjoying the sun, sand and water. This is also the island where John Fitzgerald Kennedy Jr. was married at the First African Baptist Church. On Tuesday Judi and David Campbell caught up with us and we took them on the island tour.
