Crossing the Tongue of the Ocean, Notice the Depths of the Water
As the Land is Just Above Sea Level, Atlantis Stands Out
The Race is On to Get to the Harbour First
Breakwall in Nassau, Used Drums for Forms
Only Three Cruise Ships in Harbour
Atlantis from the Harbour
Chub Key to Nassau, Bahamas - It was a beautiful, warm day with 10 knot winds when we crossed the Tongue of the Ocean. There was not even a ripple in the coffee cups. You could see the towers of the Atlantis Resort for miles as they are very tall compared to the land and other buildings. When we entered the harbour we had to radio for permission to enter as the harbour is very busy with cruise ships, ocean freighters, fishing boats and pleasure craft. We stayed at the Nassau Harbour Club, which was typical, not even close to what was advertised. The people were very pleasant at the marina and could not do enough to help you.
