Washington DC - We spent our time in Washington doing the tourist thing. I now know what hotter than hell means because we lived it(100 F + everyday heat index with high humidity). We did the Smithsonian Museums as they are air conditioned. Seen the Hope Diamond 45.5 carats. I don't have to worry about owning it, but it was nice to see. Went to the White House, lots of security, can't get too close. Ella and I went to Mary Poppins at the Kennedy Centre because you guessed it, it was air conditioned. We got to go into the Capital Building thanks to Roger and Karen who were able to get us tickets. Took a Double Decker Bus Tour. It was great as you did not have to walk any where. It is a great city with lots to offer and we only seen a small part of it even though our five visiting days were full of site seeing and attractions. We would like to come back and see more at another time.
